As of October 20th, we will be open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
From livestock to family pets, Dr. Wood enjoys caring for them all.
Dr. Kathleen Wood grew up in Raeford, North Carolina, raising chickens, hogs, and beef cattle on her family's farm. She earned both her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University, graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.
After graduation, Dr. Wood spent six years practicing swine medicine in Minnesota and Iowa before returning to North Carolina and transitioning into companion animal medicine. Following two and a half years in general practice, she joined Urgent Vets for Pets, where she enjoys the variety and fast-paced nature of urgent care medicine. Her professional interests include surgery, emergency medicine, and wound management.
Dr. Wood enjoys caring for both companion animals and farm animals, including pet pigs, cattle, and small ruminants. Outside of the clinic, she operates a hog farm, collects random miniatures, keeps honey bees, and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Justin, and their three crazy dogs.
PS don't let work get you down, I think you're doing a great job :)
